Easing the Tension: Navigating the Transactional and the Relational in Community Health
May 3, 2024 | 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM

The Resilient Beginnings 2024 Program is hosting a In-Person Event on May 3rd, 2024 at CHORI Library, 5700 Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Oakland, CA 94609 from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Description: The transactional aspects of healthcare (e.g., finance and reimbursements, regulatory mandates, accreditation, compliance, legal, etc.) is often seemingly at odds with the relational aspects (e.g., patient-provider relationships, reflective space, upholding dignity, screening and response, etc.). This session will explore how to navigate the tension between these two necessary aspects of our work. Participants will be able to apply their learnings to more fully integrate and sustain their organization’s Resilient Beginning efforts.   Who should attend: One senior leader and one Resilient Beginnings champion from each of the clinics participating in Resilient Beginnings 2024. The senior leader should be an executive such as the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operation Officer, Chief Behavioral Health Officer, Chief Executive Officer, or their equivalents. Very large health systems (such as county health systems or large federally qualified health centers with more than 60,000 unduplicated patients annually), a senior director such as the Chair of Pediatrics, a Medical Director, or their equivalents may attend instead of an executive. The champion should ideally be someone who has been highly involved in the organization’s Resilient Beginnings efforts.
